Alexandre Pato confirms he hasn't retired: 'I'm still deciding'‘
Having not played since 2023, Alexandre Pato's name has once again become a topic of discussion in the football world. In an interview with Desimpedidos, the striker confirmed that he may return to the pitch soon.
“I haven’t retired yet. I’ve been struggling with the decision for two years. I weigh everything up: market value, time, etc. I’m still deciding, but I think it won’t be longer than this year whether I’ll come back or not,” said the striker.
Despite his long time away from playing, Pato is still waiting to decide his future. Recently, the 36-year-old Brazilian expressed interest in buying Fleetwood Town, a team in the English fourth division.
Having come through the ranks at Internacional, Pato has played for clubs such as Milan, Corinthians, São Paulo, and Chelsea throughout his career. In his last professional stint with São Paulo in 2023, the striker played ten games and scored two goals.

Bragantino youth academy product arrives at Athletic.
Athletic has announced another signing for the 2026 season. It's Alexandre Pena, a product of Bragantino's youth academy.
The 21-year-old midfielder completed his entire youth development at Bragantino, but only made his professional debut for Pouso Alegre in the 2026 state championship. He arrives at the São João del Rei club on loan.
After making 30 appearances for Braga's under-20 team in 2025, Pena played nine times for Pouso Alegre in 2026, all in the Campeonato Mineiro, and scored one goal.
